Nokia 5.3 Announced With Android 10 & Quad Camera Setup

The Nokia 8.3 5G is one of three smartphones that the company announced during its event, and it’s the most powerful of them. If you’re looking for something more affordable, however, the Nokia 5.3 is the way to go.

This handset has been announced alongside the Nokia 8.3 5G, and it’s also a mid-range handset. This phone, however, isn’t fueled by the Snapdragon 765G, but the Snapdragon 665.

That is also quite a capable chip, but it doesn’t support 5G connectivity, and it’s inferior in terms of performance to the Snapdragon 765G.

The Nokia 5.3 includes a quad camera setup, and a side-facing fingerprint scanner

This handset actually resembles the Nokia 8.3 5G, to a degree. Its rear-facing camera setup looks somewhat similar, and this phone sports four cameras on the back. It features a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, a regular capacitive one.

Nokia’s logo is also placed on the back of the device, and the back side of this phone is rounded. That camera setup does protrude on the back a bit, and a dual-LED flash is placed in the middle of that camera module.

The volume up, volume down, and power / lock buttons are placed on the right side of this phone. The Google Assistant button can be found on the left, along with a SIM card tray.

This phone does include a 3.5mm headphone jack, just like the Nokia 8.3 5G. The device includes a waterdrop display notch, though its bezels are somewhat thin overall. Nokia’s logo is placed on the ‘chin’ below the display, though.

The Nokia 5.3 features a 6.55-inch HD+ (1600 x 720) flat display with 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is equipped with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card).

Android 10 comes pre-installed on the device

Android 10 comes pre-installed on this device, and we’re looking at stock Android, as this is an Android One phone. The device also includes two SIM card slots, by the way.

A 4,000mAh battery is also a part of the package, and it supports 10W fast wired charging. A 13-megapixel camera (f/1.8 aperture) can be found on the back, along with a 5-megapixel wide-angle unit. A 2-megapixel depth sensor is included as well, as is a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

An FM radio module is included here, as is Bluetooth 4.2. This phone supports dual 4G LTE with VoLTE, and it has a USB Type-C port for charging.

The Nokia 5.3 comes in Cyan, Sand, and Charcoal color variants. Its 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage will cost €189. We still don’t know the price tag for the 6GB RAM model. The device will go on sale from April-end, says the company.
