Vegetable momos are probably one of the easiest to cook at home. With a wholesome stuffing of crunchy veggies such as carrots, cabbage and onion along with garlic, vinegar, soy sauce and pepper, this dumpling recipe makes for a perfect evening snack. The stuffing is packed in a thin layer of maida, salt and baking powder and is steamed until cooked. You can steam the momos in an idli steamer as well if you do not have the regular steamer at home.

Momo is also a versatile dish with which you can experiment with both the stuffing as well as the outer layer. Instead of vegetables, one can even stuff cottage cheese and if you want to relish non-vegetarian momos, simply stuff it with juicy and succulent minced chicken or mutton. If you don’t wish to use all-purpose flour or maida, prepare the outer covering with whole wheat flour.
